Located in East Grand Rapids, MI, this East Coast inspired home deserves special attention as it is one of our most popular projects. Although the home was finished in 2012, our Fisk Lake Cottage continues to bring in many questions about its design, finish materials, and floor plan. The lakeside cottage style throughout the home makes this a timeless architectural design both inside and out.

The main design principle for the home was creating a house that was comfortable for two people while accommodating many guests and lakeside adventures. The open floor plan is defined by various material changes and ceiling trim elements that help to keep the space from feeling too cavernous when only two people are around.

This home was also featured in the 2012 Fall Cosmopolitan Home Grand Rapids magazine. Read the full article here for interviews with the full team of designers involved: Sears Architects, Eastmark Construction, and Villa Decor.

LAKESIDE: One of the most important aspects in the design of this home was making sure it nestled into its site to look like it always belonged there. This was achieved through the split-level floor plan with natural textures and colors to help it blend in with its surroundings.
