The Polk Road Residence

This farmhouse was designed to support a working 80-acre cattle farm while providing open, modern family living. The plan orients primary living spaces—including kitchen, dining, and great room—toward views of pastures, ponds, and the herd. A metal-rooted breezeway connects the house to a heated garage with utility spaces for farm work, keeping dust and dirt out of main areas. The second-floor master suite and balcony extend the landscape views, while terraces and French doors provide direct outdoor access. Traditional farmhouse proportions and materials are combined with an open plan and modern amenities to balance functional farm life with long-term comfort.
