The main house rises above 950 feet of sandy shoreline. The house is designed after the classic rambling cottages that were built in Northern Michigan at the turn of the twentieth century, as expressed by its gambrel roof, dormers, and many timeless architectural details. Four outdoor fireplaces create cozy vignettes on the 1,800 square feet of relaxing porches and verandas.
Nestled into the trees high on a bluff overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan is the Mossburg guest house. Below are the ever-changing patterns of light and shade on the lake surface and the sugar-sand beaches. Views from the porch offer daily, up-close sightings of eagles as they circle and soar at eye level. Occasionally one will dive to catch a large salmon from the lake. The porch runs the entire length of the house, with an outdoor fireplace and an enclosed sleeping porch for those who just can’t spend a moment away from the wonder of wildlife.
