“Rob Sears took our preliminary blueprints and refined our lake house into a work of art,” said the owner. “Every room, big and small, is designed and laid out to appreciate the beauty of the Lakeshore.”

It’s a lovely setting with a long curving driveway bending through the woods and opening to a cedar shake exterior on top of a subtle hill. A covered porch with metal roof features pillars and a bluestone patio. There’s a classic feel with an inviting presence. Simply put: what’s not to like? It’s a timeless design with plenty to appreciate: the metal roof, the stately columns, the dormers above the garage, the details are well thought out. “They wanted something crisp and clean and somewhat traditional – but not a slave to tradition,” noted Sears.

The lakeside elevation offers the “wow” factor. The back of the home is almost entirely glass, a unique, architectural expression that clearly state: this home has a spectacular view. “These clients were very involved in the design process – very engaged,” said Sears. “They’re very creative and pushed for excellence in this house.”

The home’s foyer immediately grabs attention. A feeling of delight sets in as the home’s personality is instantly revealed. Happy and bright, it’s a feast for the eyes. Artistic touches are everywhere and the artwork is divine. There’s a mix of elegance with whimsy, all encompassed by beautiful workmanship that is the home itself. Light, white oak floors underfoot are a nice contrast to the dark woodwork seen throughout. The espresso finish of the woodwork serves to frame each space like a painting but the seven-step process to create this custom lok could be considered artwork all its own. And, with the extensive cabinetry and built-ins throughout, the entire home is an example of customized craftsmanship at its finest.
